1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how PickleFlex (“We”, “Us”, or “Our”) collects, protects, uses, and discloses the information you (“User”, “you” or “your”) provide on the PickleFlex mobile applications (iOS and Android) and associated web services (collectively, the “App”). This Policy applies to all features, including PickleFlex Leagues, Flex Play open matches, DUPR rated matchmaking, and PickleFlex Pro subscriptions.

2. Information We Collect

We receive and store information you knowingly provide to us when you create an account, complete your athlete profile, post or claim matches, submit scores, or communicate with other players:

• Identity & Account Data: First name, last name, date of birth, gender, and login credentials.
• Contact Data: Email address and push notification tokens.
• Profile & Media Data: Skill level rating, self-assessment, bio, home court location, and user-uploaded profile photos/avatars.
• Geolocation & Court Proximity Data: Approximate or device location (latitude, longitude, postal/zip code) collected with your permission solely to display nearby pickleball courts, calculate match distances (e.g., games within 25 miles), and suggest relevant city hubs.
• Match & Score Data: Match schedule dates, court locations, game formats (Social, Casual, DUPR Rated, Challenge Matches), game set scores, winner designations, and Flex Points history.
• DUPR Account Data: If you choose to link your DUPR account, we collect and store your official DUPR ID, DUPR rating (singles and doubles), reliability scores, and player verification details provided through DUPR's API.
• In-App Messages: Text messages exchanged between players in match-specific chats and community discussion channels to facilitate game logistics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for genuine operational and matchmaking purposes, including:

• Creating, maintaining, and authenticating your athlete account.
• Enabling Flex Play matchmaking, match posting, court discovery, and game scheduling.
• Displaying match cards with accurate geographic distance from your selected court or location.
• Facilitating official score submissions, set validations, and automatic rating synchronization with DUPR.
• Providing 1-on-1 direct messaging between match hosts and claimants to confirm court availability, arrival times, and equipment.
• Managing PickleFlex Pro subscriptions, free monthly match quotas, and promotional referral rewards.
• Delivering important transactional push notifications (e.g., match claimed, score submitted, opponent confirmed score, or subscription activated).
• Maintaining fair play, enforcing our community standards, and investigating dispute or fraud reports.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We disclose personal information only in the specific situations outlined below:

• Other PickleFlex Players: Your display name, profile photo, skill level rating, DUPR rating, home court, and match history are publicly visible to other players in the App to enable discovery, challenge invitations, and competitive match scheduling.
• DUPR Integration: When you connect your DUPR account or participate in a DUPR Rated Flex Play match, match score summaries, participant IDs, and game outcomes are transmitted to DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating at api.dupr.gg) for official rating calculation and record-keeping.
• Payment & App Store Processing: Subscription purchases (PickleFlex Pro) are processed securely through Apple StoreKit (for iOS) and Google Play Billing (for Android). We do not collect, view, or store credit card numbers or financial account details.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Providers: We use Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform for secure encrypted data hosting, authentication, database storage, and push notification delivery.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the vital safety of our users and the public.

5. In-App Messaging Privacy

In-app match chat messages are stored securely in our database and are accessible only to the participants of that specific match and authorized moderators in the event of a reported violation of our Terms of Service or community safety guidelines.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or destruction. All data transmissions between the App and our backend servers are secured using SSL/TLS encryption.

7. Account Deletion and Data Retention

You have the absolute right to delete your account and all associated Personal Information at any time. You can do this directly inside the App by navigating to Profile > Edit Profile > Delete Account, or by emailing our support team. Upon confirmation, your user profile, photo, contact information, and authentication credentials will be permanently and irreversibly purged from our active databases.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for or directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that a user under 13 has registered, we will promptly delete that account.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify or update this Policy at any time. Any changes will become effective immediately upon posting the updated Policy with a revised Effective Date. Your continued use of the App following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
